In creating a Prayer Shawl, the shawl making process begins with prayers and blessings for the recipient.  The intentions are continued throughout the creation of the shawl. 

The shawl can be crocheted, quilted, knitted, or sewn.  The shawl serves as a reminder of the mercy, peace, and compassion that can be found in god's loving embrace.  A prayer shawl is presented to each of our second grade Faith Formation students at the time of their First Reconciliation.  Prayer Shawls are also given to the sick, home bound, or those experiencing a time of loss.

Prayer which is prayed as Prayer Shawl is presented to Faith Formation student:
May you be cradled in hope,
kept in joy, graced in peace and
wrapped in God's love.  Amen
