The Respect Life Ministry at St. Michael the Archangel Parish promotes the dignity and sanctity of every human life from conception to natural death. Through prayer, education, and charitable outreach, this ministry encourages our parish community to support and defend life at every stage.

Throughout the year, parishioners are invited to participate in activities that support mothers, babies, and families in need, while also raising awareness of the Church’s teaching on the dignity of every human person.

Activities and Projects

Baby Shower for Life (January)
Each January the ministry sponsors a “Baby Shower for Life.” Parishioners are invited to donate new baby items such as diapers, clothing, blankets, crib sheets, and other essentials. Donations are collected in the gathering space and distributed to families in need through local charitable organizations.

Spiritual Adoption Program
Parishioners are invited to spiritually “adopt” an unborn child in danger of abortion by committing to pray daily for nine months for the baby and the baby’s parents. Monthly updates help participants follow the baby’s development throughout the pregnancy.

Baby Bottle Fundraiser (Fall)
Each fall the Respect Life Ministry sponsors a Baby Bottle Fundraiser. Parishioners take home a baby bottle from the gathering space, fill it with coins, cash, or checks, and return it to the parish. Donations support pro-life ministries and assistance for families and newborns.

Life Chain (October)
Each October parishioners participate in the Life Chain, a peaceful public witness for life. Participants gather along a designated roadway holding signs and praying silently for the protection of unborn children and for a greater respect for life in our nation.

March for Life Pilgrimage
Members of the parish join the Diocese of Wichita in the National March for Life pilgrimage in Washington, D.C., standing in solidarity with thousands who advocate for the protection of the unborn.
